Welcome to another fun Netflix Teleparty! We watch from home together, with discussions about the movie in the chat box – or just sit back and enjoy! Everyone is welcome!
May 7: Lady Bird. 5 Academy Award Nominations. “My love letter to Sacramento”, says writer/director Greta Gerwig. She memorializes her turbulent teenage love/hate relationship with Sacramento and her mother in this coming of age memoir. You’ll see city landmarks all throughout. The beautiful blue home is still in the Fabulous Fifties neighborhood; you can go see it. Nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress. You might remember the large billboard Sacramento put up to thank Ms. Gerwig, along I-80 near I-5. Come join us!
Join us every 1st and 3rd Friday evening! These are fun evenings with like-minded people who love watching and discussing movies together. No chatting necessary – always great movies, some new and some worth watching again and again!
Reason Center and AOF (Atheists and Other Freethinkers) co-sponsor a movie night two Fridays each month. Reason Center has a big screen and sound system. We have chairs, but they’re not great for 2 hours of movie watching so we recommend you bring a comfy lawn chair, blankets, and pillows. You can also bring your own dinner and drinks to enjoy in addition to our complimentary theater popcorn. Our movie nights are free for Reason Center members, which starts at only $5/month and supports other activities for our local freethought community.
