possible Topic: What does “A Very Atheist Christmas” mean to you?
As 2020 comes to an end, what do you feel when you say Happy Holidays?
It is mid December and we are thinking about the Holidays. This time, we will have the end of a year that brought horrors and pain in the world through COVID 19 and, that, more clearly than ever, revealed the enormous socio-economic disparity in our society.
It is said that the end of the year is a time for people to reflect on their lives, make wishes to accomplish their goals, and have hopes for a better future.
What does the holiday season mean to you?
How do you celebrate some of the December holidays?
Do you consider saying Happy Holidays (instead of Merry Christmas) an imposed politically correct statement or a diversity conscientious expression?

WELCOME to www.AtheistsUnited.org’s meetup – one of many opportunities to engage in mindful discussions, lectures, book clubs, educational forums mostly online, and our Volunteer events like the monthly food distribution in person.
Links to other meetups are listed below.
For our last meetups we strongly considered to host an in-person and on-line meeting. One of our members even invited a few of us into her backyard. From experience we realized that the quality of connecting the real and virtual world wouldn’t be satisfactory.
For example, because of physical distancing the microphone would need to be so sensitive/powerful that it would pick up environmental background noises like birds, trees, cars etc. In addition, the delay caused by various internet speeds could lead to unwanted frustrations.
If you know how to make a “hybrid” meeting happen, please drop us a line.
Look out for topics posted in the discussion section and please place your own ideas, questions or concerns in the comments and please feel free to private message any of our co-organizers by clicking on their names.
If you are not familiar with ZOOM and would like to have instructions as to how to join a ZOOM meeting, please review at the following links prior to the scheduled meeting:
The San Fernando Valley Atheist Meetup is a place for atheists to meet, have dinner with, and talk to other atheists. The video conference starts at 6:45 and ends at 9PM. A few agnostics and religious people sometimes show up as well and they are welcome as long as they are not there to proselytize.
This meetup is sponsored by www.AtheistsUnited.org
