Commonly referred to by its acronym GEB, this 1979 book is a ‘golden’ oldie, but hopefully still relevant to those with an interest in contemplating the nature of consciousness. In the words of the author, “…GEB is a very personal attempt to say how it is that animate beings can come out of inanimate matter.” Hofstadter does so through an interweaving discussion of concepts from mathematics, art and music.

Come with a few thoughts/ideas about the book to share and discuss!
