Sacramento is filled with gorgeous hiking places, ranging from riverside nature to rugged hills. Join us for a hike event each 1st Saturday of the month to one of these sites, meet new people, and observe nature.
This hiking event is in Sweetwater Trail – Folsom Lake. This is a great hike for scenery, moderate hill climbing, enjoying the nature, and of course: the company of like-minded individuals.
Access: Drive E. Natoma St. to the east, turn left onto Green Valley Rd, drive 3 miles, turn left onto Salmon Falls Rd, drive north about 5.5 mile, sharp left and the parking lot will be 800 ft ahead. The last left turn to the parking lot is about 850 ft before the bridge crossing South Fork American River, so if you cross the bridge, you know you just passed the turn. There is a parking fee of $10 as of last time I’ve been there. We will Gather in the parking lot, I’ll be carrying “meetup” sign.
Gathering at 9 am.
Parking: There is a 10$ parking fee. Please bring few extra $1 bills in case the fees were increased.
Configuration: Out-and-back.
Difficulty: moderate, mild ups and downs.
Exposure: partly shaded.
Trail surface: Duff and dirt, rock and gravel.
duration: 2-3 hrs.
Cellphone coverage: probably no cellphone service coverage.
Recommendations: hat, sunscreen, plenty of water, trekking poles, a snack, binoculars for observing wildlife and birds.
Attendance Confirmation Note: Please confirm your attendance in a comment a day ahead (Friday or Saturday morning). If less than a total of 4 people from both groups (SACFan and Reason Center) confirm by comments by 7am morning, then event is automatically canceled. I will send a notification in this case.

Risks include, but are not limited to, all kinds of injuries or death resulting from falling from elevated places, slip and fall on ground, attacks by wild animals, medical conditions resulting from exposure to weather conditions including rain, cold and hot weather, dust, pollens, and poisonous plants.
