American Atheists have recently announced the fourth edition of their State of the Secular States report, a groundbreaking review of statewide laws and policies that affect religious equality and the separation of religion and government, with updates from the 2021 legislative session.

To present their findings, California Freethought Day has invited Alison Gill – American Atheists’ Vice President for Legal and Policy – to examine current and proposed legislation, both positive and negative, throughout the country with a focus on California. This free, live event, hosted on Zoom, will touch on:

  • reproductive rights,
  • education,
  • religious exemption, and
  • discrimination

… from Sacramento to the Supreme Court.

Their report can be a powerful tool for secular advocates and lawmakers.

You’ll also learn about the upcoming Secular Advocacy Week, scheduled for the end of May, and how you can be a voice for secular rights in California.
