Our first Sunday Assembly service since 2020 will be held in our new Reason Center at 1300 Ethan Way, Suite 675 on December 11th. Ours will be the first main event there, and a great program is planned for the day. As always, families are welcome, and Becky Mark will entertain the children during the service. The doors open at 10:30 am and the program will begin at 11:00 am.
There will be welcome greetings from old and new members, live music by Sunday Reason, and a presentation on Wintermas by Michael Harold. All this will be followed by a potluck lunch! Please bring your favorite dish to share with the group.
Wintermas: Toward a Secular Celebration of the Season by Michael Harold. This short ebook sets out the case for a principled, named Winter Holiday celebration called Wintermas. It’s for non-Christians, including nonbelievers, the nonreligious, atheists, agnostics, skeptics, freethinkers and those from other traditions. Wintermas is a secular celebration of the Winter Holidays similar to Christmas but with important differences.
Michael Harold, a native of Toronto, Canada, is a former professional journalist and attorney who currently lives in Northern California and makes his living as a marketing director. A lifelong enthusiast and student of history, secularism and the winter holidays, Mr. Harold holds a BA in political science and economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC, and a master’s of business administration from the California State University, San Jose
