The Atheist Odyssey

Description: We are a diverse Secular group where we provide a platform, online and/or in person, for a wide range of activities, interests and discussions. Our events are led by independent event hosts who determine the scope and direction of their particular events.

Regular Events:

  • Every Friday @ 6:30-8:30PM PT (and beyond) – Hell Yeah! It’s game night.
    • Come and enjoy an evening of games and blasphemy. Join us for the games. Join us for the camaraderie. Join us for the conversation.
  • Odd Saturdays @ 2:00-4:00PM PT – Closing the Book on God
    • Come join us for a grand discussion on the failure of the arguments for god. Let’s spend a Saturday afternoon for some in depth conversations regarding counter apologetics, philosophy, science, and the bible. Let’s shine a light on the epistemological dishonesty lurking within fundamentalist apologia and tactics while examining methods of effective communication.
  • Alternating Thursdays @ 7:00-9:00 PM PT – Focus on Social Justice
    • The emphasis of this group is the education of our members about the serious issues regarding all forms of Equity in Southern California, with the goal of establishing Social Action and implementing necessary changes right here in our own communities!
  • Every Monday, except the 1st Monday of each month @ 7:00-9:00 PM PT – Reproductive Freedom Videos and Discussion
    • Our topics range from Abortion Healthcare Rights, LGBTQ Healthcare and Rights, Racism and Inclusion, Universal Healthcare, Separation of Church and State, Feminism, Government/Civics, Poverty, Homelessness, Fighting Vaccine Mis and Dis Information, Immigration Rights, Worker’s Rights, Fighting for Fair Living Wages and much more. Video clips will range from comedy, news, music, and short educational documentaries.

  • 3rd Sundays: 5:00PM-7:00PM PT (8:00-10:00 ET) – CFI Third-Sunday Roundtable
    • As a monthly series we will focus on readings, specified in the chat of each event. In each meeting we will pose three questions about the reading, and ask for volunteers to give their answers. (Questions: 1- What are the main ideas in the reading? 2- What is most surprising idea? 3- Do you see any weaknesses in the thesis?)

    • Sunday Platform is our most important and long-standing community event. These gatherings educate, stimulate personal growth, inspire reflection and action, and strengthen our community.
