The Sunday Assembly is a secular congregation that celebrates life. We are radically inclusive – everyone is welcome, regardless of their beliefs (or lack thereof), their sexual orientation, their age, gender, or politics.

This Month’s Service:

One of the strongest appeals of religion is the hope that a benevolent god or cosmic law will ensure the survival and happiness of the believer beyond biological death, and make right any injustices in this life.

How should atheists, particularly ones who do not believe in immortal souls, approach their own deaths? In this talk, Eric Cates will present and evaluate several reasons why the truth about our deaths may not be as bleak as many people believe. These will include considerations from the philosophy of personal identity, cognitive science, and the physics and philosophy of time.

Eric is a graduate student in Philosophy, and former instructor of Critical Thinking and Contemporary Moral and Political Issues.

What is Sunday Assembly?

Our events are 75 minutes of inspirational talks, music (mostly pop hits), poetry and art, donuts and coffee, and more, followed by an optional potluck and social hour.

Our events are free for all to attend, though donations are appreciated.

Childcare is provided for potty-trained youth ages 2 and up, though we expect older children will have a blast at the regular service.

Our Motto: To live better, help often, and wonder more.

Stay after the service and have lunch with your fellow Sunday Assembly goers. Bring a dish to share (your dish will be waiting about an hour until we dig in) or just hang out with us.

Questions? Carpool needs? First timers? Use the comments area and let us know!
