After ten years in the aerospace industry, Steve Hill, a comedian and former Marine sergeant (!), decided to make a difference by working in the California prison system. He will talk to us about incarceration versus education—a particularly relevant issue these days. In fact, this issue has been relevant for centuries, and our attention is long overdue.
Steve ran for California State Senate District 21 in 2016 and received 12% of the vote (over 13,000 votes), which is pretty remarkable, considering his well-advertised membership in The Satanic Temple. He ran again in 2020 in a more crowded field and still got 10,863 votes, which demonstrates his ability to tap into the public’s attention and earn their confidence.
