The Sunday Assembly is a secular congregation that celebrates life. We are radically inclusive – everyone is welcome, regardless of their beliefs (or lack thereof), their sexual orientation, their age, gender, or politics.

This Month’s Service:

Note: This service will be a special California Sunday Assembly on Zoom. We will be participating in the program along with the four other California groups: San Diego, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and East Bay. The topic is Ethics in Star Trek, and the speaker is James Croft. Here is a very brief overview of the plan, and we will send out more specific information later this week.

The program starts at 10:30 with mingling in the breakout rooms, and then will follow a format similar to ours in Sacramento. Your input is requested: some of your thoughts in writing about any current milestones for you, such as a birthday or other special achievement, and you may make a short video about good things in your life that will be shared during the meeting. There will be breakout rooms again following the speaker’s presentation so that small groups can have short discussions. Sounds fun, and a great chance to get to know some of our fellow Sunday Assembly people.

What is Sunday Assembly?

Our events are 75 minutes of inspirational talks, music (mostly pop hits), poetry and art, donuts and coffee, and more, followed by an optional potluck and social hour.

Our events are free for all to attend, though donations are appreciated.

Childcare is provided for potty-trained youth ages 2 and up, though we expect older children will have a blast at the regular service.

Our Motto: To live better, help often, and wonder more.

Stay after the service and have lunch with your fellow Sunday Assembly goers. Bring a dish to share (your dish will be waiting about an hour until we dig in) or just hang out with us.

Questions? Carpool needs? First timers? Use the comments area and let us know!

Reason Center is committed to the promotion of critical thinking and secular values. In partnership with other secular groups and organizations, it hosts knowledgeable and engaging speakers discussing a wide range of related topics.
