Hurray for exoplanets!!!

In the last three decades, thousands of planets orbiting other stars have been found. Many of these have been described as “possibly habitable” or less plausibly “habitable.”

Liam’s talk will focus on what exactly makes a planet habitable and give some insights into why getting hard data to settle issues of habitability is difficult. He will also discuss how odd some of these alien star systems are and how these differences affect claims of habitability.

Liam McDade, professor of Physics, Astronomy, & History at the Sac City College campus, BS in Astronomy (Penn State), MS in Astronomy (New Mexico State), MA in History (Sam Houston State), MS in Physics (New Mexico State), is a total brainbox.

Free parking in the lot.
OK to bring personal snacks & beverages – or to share – as you wish.
AOF will provide cool clear water.
