Movie nights are back in person at our new Reason Center in Sacramento. We are at 1300 Ethan Way, Suite 675-B in the back corner of the building. We provide the popcorn, feel free to bring your own snacks as well.
Lights, camera, action! Get ready for our next meetup – a BYOD movie night! BYOD stands for bring your own disc, so come prepared with 1-2 of your favorite films on DVD or Blu-ray in hand. We’ll put it to a group vote to pick which movie to screen for the evening’s entertainment. Snacks and drinks are optional as you see fit. Once we’ve got the flick picked out, we’ll kick back to enjoy the show together. If people want to stick around afterwards, we can dive into a lively discussion to debate reactions, appreciate the cinematic arts, and analyze the details. But no pressure! Whether you have to head out or are able to stay for the film critiquing, come ready for a fun, interactive BYOD movie meetup. See you at the show!
The actual movie is a secret, because of our MPLC License and the stodgy rule of law — but we can slip you a hint. This 2014 drama is about the English mathematican genius Alan Turing who helped cracked the German Enigma Code and win the war but struggled with his private life. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, so cool. We also encourage a post-film discussion, which makes this educational, sort of.
